About Owen Davies
Owen Davies is a commercial photographer specialising in still life, architectural and portrait photography and draws on his experience of over 6 years in the industry.
His photography has been featured in a number of major publications including Grand Designs Magazine, The Times, Marie Claire, GQ online, prominent luxury watch website aBlogtoWatch and Harper’s Bazaar online.
Owen has worked with Lyrix Organix since 2013, photographing many live music and spoken word events, from early shows at The Old Queen’s Head in Islington to the recent Unfold UK tour.
About Lyrix Organix
Lyrix Organix celebrate 10 years in 2019. A pioneering live events and youth education company that explore the space between language and music - specialising in artistic social action projects across the world.
Since its launch in 2009 as a DIY charity night - upstairs in a West London pub (Paradise by way of Kensal Green), Lyrix Organix has seen pivotal performances from the likes of Ed Sheeran, Akala, Kate Tempest and the cream of the spoken word, hip hop and folk scenes. They have hosted shows at Roundhouse, Tate Britain and London 2012; co-produce UK and Mexican Beatbox Championships; direct the acclaimed ‘UnFOLD’; and curate their own venue at Glastonbury Festival (the infamous Rum Shack).
Lyrix Organix’s reputation for building platforms for young people, on stage and behind the scenes, has seen them deliver innovative combined-arts workshop programmes from Ethiopia to Russia with a team of world-renowned voices, artists and exceptional educators.
The artists featured in Object/Create
Solomon OB first performed at Lyrix Organix as a beatboxer (2010), where he was paired up with a young Ed Sheeran. He evolved into a spoken word artist, rapper and musician, going on to become National Poetry Slam champion (2016).
Dan Tsu is the founder and director of Lyrix Organix. An event producer, promoter, workshop programme director and facilitator. Dan started his music career as a Drum’n’Bass MC. He has self-financed Lyrix Organix since 2009 and remains committed to platforms for youth and social activism.
Toby Thompson is a performance poet from Bath who first performed at Lyrix Organix aged 17 years old, with Akala’s Hip Hop Shakespeare Co (2011). A founding artist of Lyrix Organix ‘UnFOLD’ (2014), Toby recently won a Pleasance Indie award winner at Edinburgh Fringe for his one-man show ‘For The Record’ (2018).
